Who Can Be A Member?
Any resident of the County of Frederick, Virginia and surrounding areas, who is at least sixteen years of age and who is not a member of any other fire and rescue company, within Frederick County, may become a member of the Clear Brook Volunteer Fire & Rescue, but no person under the age of 18 years shall be elected to membership without written permission of the parents or guardian. If voted into the company you will be subject to a six month probationary period until approved or disapproved by the General Membership. Eligibility for membership shall be without regard to race, creed, or sex.
How to Apply for Membership?
Persons meeting the membership requirements that are interested in becoming a member should fill out a membership application and return it to the fire station. The prospective member will also need to obtain a copy of their driving record from the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles and submit that when they return their membership application. The membership committee must review the results of your criminal record prior to the meeting in which you are voted on.
How long Will the Application Process take?
Once you submit your application it will be presented to the membership at the next monthly membership meeting. After your application is submitted to the membership it will be tabled for 30 days for the membership committee to perform a reference check. After the application is tabled for 30 days it will be voted on at the next months membership meeting. Before the membership application can be voted on, you, the prospective member will be required to meet with the membership committee for a small interview to discuss your interest and prior experience.
